ADAPTIVE SURFING/KAYAKING FAQ'S
What should I bring on the day of the event?
You should bring anything with you that you would normally bring to the beach or out in the water. See below for a list of items we recommend, but please feel free to bring any additional items you may need:
- Sunscreen
- Snacks
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Towel
- Change of Clothes
- Water/Gatorade
- Beach Chair
- Tent/Umbrella/Shade
- Personal lifejacket (we provide these for the session but if you have one you prefer, you're welcome to bring it)
How will we know when it's our turn to surf?
You'll be informed when you sign-in on the day of the event of your time. You should also remain close to the tent in the event we are able to get you or your child in the water earlier than expected. If you leave the area near the tent, we may not be able to find you and you may lose your spot.
Where do we park?
Parking is at the Oceanana Fishing Pier/Hotel in Atlantic Beach. Please DO NOT park in the areas to the front designated as "Restaurant Parking Only". We have also been told we can use the parking across the street at Amos Mosquitos until 2pm on surf days. (Thank you to Amos's!) We will have a parking attendant available to inform you if this is where you'll need to park.
Is there charging for parking?
At this time, no! Parking is currently FREE thanks to the amazing folks at the Oceanana.
Is Lunch Provided?
We often have food sponsored by our amazing community. However, if you'd like something in between, the Oceanana Pier House Restaurant has amazing food.
Are the Rashguards for Sale?
No, they are not for sale and need to be returned at the end of the event or at the end of your session. The amazing folks over at Sunshine Cleaners have offered up their services to professionally clean them for each event. They are expensive and hard to replace. So please be sure to return them. if you accidentally take one home, please just email us at [email protected] and let us know and we can arrange a pick-up/drop-off location.
